Homewood City Schools believes that instructional technology…

  • is a tool that, when used purposefully by teachers and students, can enrich instruction, engage students, and support student learning based on learning targets.
  • prepares students to be responsible digital citizens by expanding access to knowledge and through opportunities to collaborate, communicate, create, and think critically.
  • is used with intentionality to enhance teaching by increasing productivity and providing data to drive and differentiate instruction.

Usage and Engagement

How is the resource used by teachers and/or students to enhance instruction, promote independent learning, collaboration, and engagement, and does it encourage critical thinking?

Alignment and Data

Does the resource align with learning targets, and what feedback or data does it provide to drive instruction and inform students? How will this data be used?

Accessibility and Differentiation

How does the resource expand access to learning for all students, including those with disabilities or English learners, and does it provide differentiation or accommodations?

Impact and Productivity

What impact does the resource have on student learning, and does it contribute to productivity for teachers and/or students?

Instructional Enhancement

Does the resource genuinely enhance instruction by providing authentic, learner-driven activities rather than simply substituting existing methods?

Frequency and Scope

How often will the resource be used, and how many teachers are planning to use it?
